Trust - Ya Just Gotta Believe!

As Christians, we are called to follow the example of Abraham and trust in God. Abraham's trust in God is a model of how Christians should live because it shows us the importance of putting our faith in God, even when we do not understand His plan.

In Genesis 16:6, God tells Abraham, "I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her so that she will be the mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her." This verse shows us that Abraham had faith in God's promise, even though it seemed impossible for him to have a child in his old age.

Abraham's trust in God is also a reminder that every previous covenant in the Bible has been fulfilled by Jesus. Adam's covenant with God was broken when he sinned, but Jesus came to restore our relationship with God. Abraham's covenant was also fulfilled through Jesus, who is the true descendant of Abraham and the father of many nations.

Furthermore, Romans 4 reminds us that Abraham's faith was credited to him as righteousness. This means that Abraham's trust in God was not based on his own actions, but on God's promise and faithfulness. This is a reminder to us that our salvation is not based on our own works, but on the grace of God through Jesus.

In today's world, it is easy to get caught up in our own plans and desires. We may struggle to trust in God's plan for our lives, especially when things don't go as we expect. However, Abraham's trust in God reminds us that we can put our faith in God, even when we do not understand His plan. As Christians, we are called to follow Abraham's example and trust in God, even when we do not understand His plan. This trust in God allows us to live a life of faith and obedience, and it allows us to experience the blessings of God's covenant with us.
